St. Patrick’s Day Paper Plate Leprechaun Craft!

This simple and festive St. Patrick’s Day craft activity is a ton of fun for preschoolers and kindergarten children to make, and just perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day or holiday theme unit.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s make a Paper Plate Leprechaun!
Craft items you will need:
- Paper plate
- Orange paint
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Glue
- Green, black and yellow construction paper
- Black crayon or marker
Craft instructions:
Have the children paint the outside rim of a paper plate orange
Let dry.
When dry, using scissors, have the children cut slits around the paper plate, making a Leprechaun beard.
Next, have the children draw and cut out a Leprechaun hat from green construction paper.
Then, have the children cut a 1-2 inch wide strip from black construction paper, and glue it to the Leprechaun hat.
After that, have the children draw and cut a buckle from yellow construction paper and glue it on to the Leprechaun hat.
Once done, have the children glue the Leprechaun hat on top of the paper plate.
Lastly, have the children draw eyes and a mouth on their Leprechaun.

And, voila, the children have now made a Paper Plate Leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day.
