Alphabet Letter V Craft For Kids.

Alphabet Letter V is for Venus Fly Trap!  The Venus Fly Trap is a carnivorous plant.  It especially likes to eat bugs and insects! How cool is that! 

This Letter V craft is simple and fun for kids to make, and a really creative way to practice the Letter V sound. Just the perfect Letter of the Week craft for children to learn letter V. 

Dr. Seuss’s ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book! by Dr. Seuss is a wonderful book to read to children when teaching them the alphabet. And, there are so many fun alphabet letter V activities to go along with the book, like this Alphabet Letter V is for Vase craft!

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s craft with Letter V!

Craft supplies you will need:

  • Construction paper
  • Egg Carton
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Green Paint
  • Red Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Two small trays for paint
  • Container of water (to clean paintbrush)
  • Letter V template

Craft instructions:

Print the Letter V template on white paper.

Next, have the children cut out all the images and Letter V.

Then, have the children trace and cut out all the images from construction paper.

After that, have the children paint an egg carton.  The outside should be painted green and the inside should be painted red.  The egg carton will be the Venus Fly Trap’s head.

Let dry.

While the egg carton is drying, have the children glue the flower pot and stem onto the Letter V.  Children can also draw and cut out leaves to glue on the Venus Fly Trap stem.

When the egg carton is dry, have the children cut out a small rectangle from green construction paper.  The rectangle should be smaller than the egg carton when closed.

Once cut, have the children close the Venus Fly Trap’s head shut and glue the green rectangle in back to hold the head in place.

Lastly, have the children glue the Venus Fly Trap’s head to the stem.  Place a finger inside the Venus Fly Trap’s mouth and press down for a few minutes to ensure the egg carton holds.

Feel free to have the children draw, cut out and glue a fly or two on Alphabet Letter V.  The Venus Fly Trap gets hungry!

And, voila, the children have now made a Letter V is for Venus Fly Trap craft.  What a really unique and creative hands-on learning activity for teaching the Letter V!
