Next, have the children cut out the Alphabet letter H on a piece of construction paper and fold it in half to form the torso of the horse.
Then, have the children draw a horse’s head on the construction paper (same color as the body) and cut it out.
Using a marker, have the children draw the eyes, nose and mouth on the horse’s head.
Help the children cut eight 3 inch pieces of yarn for the mane, and eight 4 inches pieces of yarn for the tail.
Once done, cut a small strip of 2 way tape and have the children fold it over the neck of the horse.
Then, have the children take the 3 inch pieces of yarn, fold over the horse and stick to the tape. This will be the horse’s mane.
Using scotch tape, have the children tape the head to the body of the horse (inside the letter H).
Using the scotch tape again, have the children place a piece at the end of the horse. Then, take the rest of the yarn (for the tail) and place it over the scotch tape, at the back of the horse (inside the letter H).
Using a marker, have the children draw hooves on the horse.
